Annual Member Meeting and Steps to Handle Uncomfortable Conversations

TDMAW Members, member employees, guests, partners and sponsors are invited to our Fool-proof Formula for Having Uncomfortable Conversations meeting, with Aleta Norris. Aleta has worked in the leadership development space for more than 30 years and has supported the development of thousands of leaders across the country through her co-ownership of Living As A Leader, a national training, coaching and consulting firm.

About our Presentation: Many people struggle with communication in the workplace. This is especially true when faced with others’ poor performance or behavior, differences of opinion and uncomfortable emotions. In fact, the most common response to a difficult situation is to avoid it; to hope it will resolve itself.

Fool-Proof Formula for Having Uncomfortable Conversations addresses this struggle. In this presentation, Aleta Norris will discuss the natural and predictable human tendencies to default to avoidance or to engage in disrespectful communication because of the pressure and stress of the situation. These tendencies can be replaced with a step-by-step process. Aleta will introduce you to six steps to navigate through an uncomfortable conversation in a way that honors all parties involved, minimizes emotion and leads to a positive outcome—high productivity and accountability while preserving the relationship.

5:30 PM (MEMBER Only Annual meeting): *Members only* meet for networking, committee reports and vote for the 2023 Board of Directors.

6:30 PM: Members, Partners, Sponsors and guests join together for dinner and Fool-Proof Formula for Having Uncomfortable Conversations, with presenter Aleta Norris of Living as a Leader.

8:30 PM: Meeting adjourned.

On the Menu: Pecan Chicken, dinner rolls, garden salad, honey baked red potatoes, sweet corn with shallots & basil, assorted bars and coffee for dessert.
