Regular Members

Any closely-held, independent firm, corporation or business entity regularly engaged in the business (on a contract basis) of designing or manufacturing for sale special dies, fixtures, cutting tools, molds, gage or special-purpose machinery, or doing machining shall be eligible to be a Regular Member of this Association.

All member shops must conduct their day-to-day business affairs in an open and ethical manner, in order to attract good workers, sell to more customers, and serve as an example to community, schools, etc. The Code of Ethics is subscribed to by all members.

Election of Members

Every application for membership must be submitted in writing, in such form as may be provided by the Board of Directors of TDMA of Wisconsin.

Eligibility for membership must be approved by a two-thirds majority of the Membership Committee, following which the candidate for membership shall be invited to attend a regular meeting of the Association.

The candidate may waive attendance at this meeting in order to expedite acceptance into the Association. In order for the membership application process to proceed, the membership applicant must advise the Association President or Membership Committee Chairman that he or she so desires following his or her attendance at that meeting.

Regular membership for the candidate must be voted upon with a two-thirds majority required at a subsequent association meeting. Upon the candidate's notification of approval of membership and the payment of prorated annual dues, the candidate shall be added to the membership roster as a Regular Member.

Representation

A Regular Member Shop is entitled to representation by any active owner at all regular meetings and activities of the Association in accordance with the provisions at the time concerning costs of extra representatives and allowances for expenses from the treasury.

Our Code of Ethics

• Quote only realistic delivery promises, and all delivery dates unless the customer’s delays or changes make it impractical.
• Hold in confidence the designs and manufacturing procedures for special tooling & precision machining unless the customer releases the company from this obligation.
• Deliver special tooling and precision machining to the specifications and quality agreed upon.
• Base quotations on a full knowledge of your own costs and all elements affecting the performance of the job, realizing that without this knowledge, a profitable business cannot long exist.
• Refrain from misrepresenting the company’s operations and capabilities and from offering bribes to influence the placement of business.
• Avoid wrongfully discrediting the equipment, product, methods, personnel or credit standing of a competitor.
• Refrain from enticing away employees of others through misleading advertising or otherwise.
• Accept responsibility for apprentice training to provide a reasonable number of skilled workmen.
• Use fair purchasing methods in dealing with suppliers.
• Treat employees equitable in all aspects, including payment of fair wages and supplemental benefits, and maintenance of safe and sanitary working conditions.
